Accounting by the Book. Perform with Trust.
The process of filing your business taxes varies depending on what kind of business you own. If you are a self-employed person, or the small business you own has no employees, then it’s possible to file taxes along with your personal income taxes.
Keeping up on rigorous and complete estate planning isn’t morbid at all—it’s the kind of plan that looks forward to the legacy you will leave to your family, friends, loved ones, and beneficiaries. A thoroughly planned estate is a plan for the future, and how you can help with it—even after you’re gone.
It’s your right to give your wealth away to friends, family members, and other people who might need some of what you have. Gifts valued over a certain amount can be taxed, however. It’s important to keep records of which gifts are given away, and how much the gifts are worth.
Planning for inheritance tax is an essential part of estate planning for many Americans. Not all states impose inheritance tax on top of the estate tax that is owed once a person dies. However, tax law tends to be subject to change, and the specifics of who owes inheritance tax can differ from year to year.
Getting audited by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is an extremely common occurrence. Every year, millions of Americans misfile their taxes. Most people do this by accident, by a form or trusting the wrong tax preparer, but many others unfortunately do it on purpose.
The law is clear: federal taxes are due on April 15th, every year. Anything filed later is considered a late tax return. While there is usually leeway of a couple of days before the IRS gets concerned, it’s a load off your shoulders to know your taxes are in well before this date.
